Welcome to the end of my life.
Feel the smooth cut of the blade of my knife .
Welcome to the darkening of my sun .
Darkness deepens as I load my gun.
Welcome to my insanity .
Mumbled curses laced with profanity.
Welcome to the end, around this crazy existence my mind won’t bend .
Welcome to the funeral procession.
Faceless mourners, of my life a reflection .
Welcome to my rebirth.
A loving heart showed me my worth .
Welcome to hope renewed .
Like an answered prayer , with the love you imbued .
Welcome to this new start , bringing me light and expelling the dark .
Dear Andy,
This is a dashing poem full of existential matters, at the end of which some transcendence is reached.
I love your well-written poem with near-perfect rhyming. Personally, I do prefer a poem to rhyme all the way or to rhyme consistently, unless there are compelling or specific reasons not to do so. Hence, I appreciate your commendable effort in rhyming well. Since I have been composing mainly rhyming poems, often with end rhymes, internal rhymes, alliterations, assonances, consonances, sibilances as well as rhythmic devices, syllabic schemes, musical patterns, and other subtle or overt features, I naturally gravitate to such features. Well done!
By the way, I have just published a new post combining poetry, visual art and science in an innovative way.
Please come and let me know what you make of my latest foray at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2021/08/25/snowflakes-tell-me-why-you-are/
Thank you in anticipation.
Wishing you a productive week doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most!
I also wonder what prompted you to write this poem.
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

Thank-you for your comprehensive comment.
Welcome is about feeling cut off from love and unwanted, the subsequent mindset that can occur , then the resolution of meeting someone who brings you back to the world weather it be a new partner or just an act of genuine unexpected kindness.
