They travelled far , they travelled long across the seas till journeys done.

The mighty norse men, brave and strong , with hearty hearts and rousing song .

They came to lands far from home , where the folk were odd and strange creatures roamed .

Lands of mist and mystery, with forests unpenetrable where dark things creep .

Seeking treasures from far and wide , trading with trinkets and animal hides.

Drinking deep at merry feasts , they feared none man or beast .

In the fight they took much joy , made the fiercest fighter’s look like small boys .

For a valiant death was their greatest prize , to be regarded as warriors in their forefathers eyes .

Those hardy men from the north to legend passed , with their mighty ships that sailed so fast .

Across the seas of time they came and made their mark on history’s page .
